Melissa Untereker, Esq.

Melissa Untereker has practiced exclusively in immigration law for over 17 years and is deeply committed to advocating for the human rights of others. She believes that all people have the right to seek happiness, security, and economic advancement regardless of where they were born.

Ms. Untereker received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Juris Doctorate from DePaul University – College of Law in Chicago, Illinois. Prior to founding Frontera Immigration Law in 2016, Ms. Untereker worked as a supervising attorney at a large not-for-profit immigration legal service organization based in Chicago, and later at a high-volume private immigration law firm in El Paso, Texas. Having successfully represented hundreds of clients over the years, Ms. Untereker has gained invaluable knowledge and experience in the complex and constantly evolving area of U.S. immigration and nationality law.

Ms. Untereker is licensed by the Illinois Bar and practices federal Immigration and Nationality law in all U.S. jurisdictions. Ms. Untereker is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild, the Federal Bar Association, and the El Paso Bar Association. She previously served as President of the Board of Directors of the Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center in El Paso, Texas.

Ms. Untereker is fluent in both English and Spanish.
